It has also included one of the first claims where a worldwide freezing order in relation to Bitcoin and other altcoins has been successfully granted by the High Court, in relation to a claim relating to the misappropriation of almost 4 million pounds worth of cryptocurrency.   This application for the freezing injunction was following a key decision in Robertson v Persons Unknown reported in July 2019, and the Lawtech Delivery Panel / UK Jurisdiction Taskforce’s Legal statement on cryptoassets and smart contracts published in November 2019.

S v S and others (Commercial Court, High Court of Justice)

Advised and acted for multiple defendants, in the Commercial Court, in a £1.5 billion claim for fraud.  The claim commenced with a Worldwide Freezing Order and the subsequent claim involved over multiple  defendants across multiple jurisdictions, and included advising clients on law in other jurisdictions, preparing their defence and conducting court litigation.  

D v W & Others (Chancery Division, High Court of Justice)

Successfully acted for a gentleman’s club owner and others following allegations of unlawful means conspiracy.  After an application for security for costs and disclosure of CCTV evidence, the claimant discontinued its claim against our clients.

W & Others v K & Others (Chancery Division, High Court of Justice)

Successfully obtained a Worldwide Freezing Order in a complex claim worth in excess of £3.7 million with regard to allegations of fraud, breach of duty, obligation, contract and conversion in respect of cryptocurrency and loans.  An expert report was obtained in respect of cryptocurrency, and the injunction application incorporated the then just published LawTech Delivery Panel’s UK Jurisdiction Taskforce report on the legal status of cryptocurrency as property in the England and Wales jurisdiction. 

J v R (Chancery Division, High Court of Justice)

Advised and acted for a Claimant in a claim involving a property dispute and including allegations of deceit and fraudulent misrepresentation.

EDS & Others v H (Pre-Action)

Following Alternative Dispute Resolution proposals, successfully negotiated a claim of circa £1.2 million in full and final settlement in respect of allegations surrounding fraud.

E v E & Others (Pre-Action)

Instructed by a Singapore entity seeking damages for fraud relating to the entity’s  employee misappropriating funds in respect of different jurisdictions (2020). 

M v A (Pre-Action)

Instructed by a client whom has allegations of dishonesty made against him by his former employer who is alleged to have been involved in a fraudulent scheme, which defrauded his former employer.
